My own personal challenge.

Here's some explanations of each one...

This is... hella long...

I'd suggest copy pasting these explanations into MS Word or something, and referring back and forth between the doodles and explanations.

Explanations:

2. lol I love when characters interact with speech balloons and stuff…

I drew this one remembering one doodle I did with a guy eating someone else’s word balloon, and the guy was saying “STOP EATING MY WORD BALLOON!”

3. This doodle just reminds me that I haven’t drawn DemyHope in a while…

4. I am not excited!! >(

5. So I was playing Paper Mario and my brother was watching me. Y’know Merlon? In every Paper Mario game, there’s always a wizard named Merlon. In The Thousand Year Door, he’s a guy who can up your partners’ damage dealt and give them new attacks.

So he came out of his building to talk to me, after I left a house next to his. He told me that the stars or something told him in a certain area there was an item that would “help your allies learn”. He said he didn’t know what it meant, and I figured, in all my other game files I never bothered to go get it, so meh, why not. So I went.

The item was an up arrow.

My brother and I were like “……” and began joking about it constantly. It was hilarious lol And then we brought it to Merlon and he’s like “…An up arrow? AN UP ARROW?!!! …Up? OF COURSE!” and rocketed upward into his ceiling and Mikey and I just died laughing. He told Mario he had a better crystal ball in his attic, but forgot about it, and that’s why he jumped up, ‘cause the up arrow reminded him. Up arrows rock hard.

8. Giselle from Disney’s Enchanted reminds me greatly of Toxica.

Especially that song.

I love Xigbar’s face.

I can just hear him, “I’ve never heard this song before…”, while Toxica and half of everyone else in town are prancing around like they’ve been working on the song and dance for months.

9. I found, on YouTube, a techno beat thing, with quotations of Colin Mochrie included.

It’s hilarious lol

And this is one of the lines, he only says it twice in the entire thing, but it’s hilarious and makes me laugh so hard.

10. I have a CD, it’s called Mickey Unrapped, it’s from like… the nineties, I think… I think it’s my dad’s… lol. And it’s got a bunch of songs based on real songs, but the words are changed a little to better fit Mickey and company.

There are a few songs they made up themselves, too, and there’s one of a few girls singing a song called Minnie Mouse is in the House and I can’t describe it any better.

But I realized how much I freaking love Minnie lol

I used to be able to draw Mickey and them but it was back when I was younger, my skillz have been slowly depleting all these years lol

11. Another Colin Mochrie quote.

He says it at random in the Colin Mochrie Remix, as I call it, and it’s just great lol

12. I love this song.

It’s so weird.

But awesome. Lol

13. Carlton cracks me up, he’s my favorite character in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

And I can just way too easily see Demyx running around, checking if anyone’s coming, and seeing no one’s around, and turning that song on and dancing around like an idiot. lol

14. This song makes me smile.

It’s a Christmas song but there’s something about it that makes me turn to it now and then, even when it’s nowhere near Christmas.

Makes me wish that thing in the wind would blow all year ‘round instead of just around Christmas.

I love the Link in this game.

He’s not exactly the same as the other Links, and he’s not exactly the same as the Ocarina of Time Link for sure, but that’s why I like him.

51. In Paper Mario there’s a mob, okay?

A mafia made up of Piantas, a race introduced in Super Mario Sunshine.

There’s one standing in front of a casino, and when you talk to him, he says this.

I never talked to him in my other files so I wondered what he said when you walked up to him and talked.

This is what he said.

And then I died laughing.

I don’t even know why.

It was just funny.

Those girls are based off a few girls I’ve known in the past.

I just find it funny that, at my schools, most of the skinny girls with a chest that’s good enough are always very nice to me.

And then a good majority of the skinny flatsies hate me to death.

And the other barber, Pirelli, sings about how he’s the best barber, and has shaved kings and important figures, including the pope, and sings about how Sweeney would probably say it wasn’t the pope, or something…

And he sings “Nope! It was-a da pope!”

And Amber once replaced “ Pope” with “Hope” and it was the funniest thing ever.

62. HOPEANA JONES.

…is afraid of giant rolling balls of stone that tumble after her, waiting to crush her into a Hope pancake. …Hopecake.

63. My Pok’esona is a Shuppet.

Because I like Shuppets.

And that’s about the only reason.

64. Whose Line reference, this time, not the Colin Mochrie Remix.

There’s an episode where they play Scenes From A Hat, and the scene is “strange things to find in your bed”.

Wayne walks up and pretends to pull up the blanket and freaks out, and shouts “COLIN?!” and screams, running away, and Colin runs up, pretending he’s popping up from the bed and shouts after him, holding out a hand, “Teach me how to sing like you!!”

65. Toxica’s mother died, only years after she was born.

I imagine her grave would be decorated with many flowers, a good amount from all of Vennon’s “brothers”, who were all very close, and loved one another’s families as if they were their own.

68. In Chicago, in that song Roxie, she’s singing about how she’s going to be famous and there’s a part where another guy says “and the audience loves her!” and she says what I say there, really fast, and the way she says “love each otherrrrr” cracks me uuuuuuuup.

69. In aforementioned musical, there’s another song called I Know A Girl, sung by a character who’s a little jealous of Roxie and her success, and sings this… I cut out a few other verses but it’s still the same basic picture.

I should make this girl a character.

I like her hair. lol

72. In a musical called Ragtime, my favorite characters are Tateh and his little girl, whose name isn’t said in the entire show.

I’ve never seen it, but my choir teacher told us that she has no name…

Anyway. They are immigrants from Latvia, and come to America for a chance at a better life.

The song Tateh sings when they arrive in America is called Success, and there’s a line in it, it’s stated in this doodle, and for some reason, this time, when I heard “hope is in the air”, I heard my name instead of the word.

74. As known, Aria works in a bar as a barmaid.

She has to escort out gross, drunk men, work with alcohol, kick men where the sun don’t shine, and she is afraid of fish, of all things.

…I don’t blame her.

I can’t touch fish either.

75. Story time.

Some of you already know this.

I think I even put it in a journal once.

Whatever.

In English class, we read the play by Shakespeare, Julius Caesar. Mr. Kalish wanted us to write an essay on it. And so I did. An epic essay. It was beautiful. He told us, he said, he said to us, “if you want, you can come in before or after school, and I can edit your papers so you can correct it and turn it in, it’d ensure you a lot better of a grade than if you didn’t.”

And so I did.

I came in after schooz one day, and gave him my paper, and he lifted his mighty red pen…

And most of what he said was some sort or praise.

Until he finally stumbled along a few things that he knew how to correct, but didn’t know how to put in words.

I thought of something and explained it for him, and he said that was exactly what he was going for, and a few things he said he never would’ve thought of putting it that way, praise, praise, praise.

And so.

I made my epic essay even more epic and essay-y, and turned it in.

Weeks passed, most of everyone else’s papers were handed back, but not mine.

My theory was that he loved my essay so much, as he’d made clear while editing the paper, that he took it home, and hung it on his fridge. This theory slowly evolved into: he took it home, framed it, and hung it over his fireplace, so that way when he is finally done grading papers and his wife is already asleep, and his little daughter had gone to sleep a long time ago, he can sit back in his chair that looks eerily similar to the Beast’s chair in Beauty and the Beast, and sip hot cocoa, and stare at my most amazing paper.

He never gave it back at the end of the year, either.

Gerudo Valley and whatnot.

I got up to cook some noodles, one day, not bothering to press start because I knew I was in a safe spot.

Link was standing around, doing nothing, outside, and before long, he started panting.

I stared back at the tv like “what the fuck was that..?”, since I never heard Link pant before.

I looked in time to see Link there, panting, and wiping his forehead, making little “it’s too damn hot” noises.

…While Navi’s chillin’ in his hat, probably in front of a tiny fairy air conditioner.

81. In Paper Mario…

There is a… guy? Screen? I don’t know.

He’s a guy that turns into the screen.

He comes out of the black chest and curses you, for everyone who’s played.

All those who haven’t, he’s stuck in this black chest, right? Er… Spoiler alert, anyone who’s… just barely started playing…

And the first time you meet him, he says you must be the legendary hero, if you can hear him, and the first time you buy it ‘cause you’re new to the game and you know you’re the legendary hero, ‘cause of the events before this point.

So he says you should find a black key and unlock him.

So you do.

And he pretends to be grateful… “t…h…a…n…k… …HA. THANK NOTHING! FOOOOOLS!” and he pops out as a crumpled up piece of paper, and unfolds to take up the entire screen, turning the screen into purple, with black dots, and a yellow evil face in the center, that’s him.

And he says he’ll curse you.

So he does.

Hilariously.

Every time this guy talks I laugh.

His “curses” are actually new techniques, like folding into a plane on plane panels, or being able to go flat so you can walk into thin spots, or rolling up into a tube so you can go under things, or folding into a boat on boat panels…

Once, he curses you, and you already know his curses are lame and actually helpful instead of horrible, and he’s like “YOUR SUFFERING AMUSES ME! AND SO I LAUGH!!!”

Ah, I love him…
